On Sunday evening, Los Angeles police detained self-proclaimed professional gambler Mikki Mase and three other individuals in the Chatsworth neighborhood, responding to reports of gunshots. The incident was captured on video by KeyNews.TV near Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park around 10:30 p.m. Officers, depicted in the footage wearing tactical gear and carrying rifles, approached four men walking along the road. Ordering them to raise their hands before handcuffing and questioning them.

Mase, also known as Michael Meiterman, gained prominence in the gambling community. Showcasing his winnings on social media platforms and in the recent Discovery documentary series “Hustlers Gamblers Crooks.” In one segment titled “The Moment I Won $4.5 Million,” Mase recounted his successes playing baccarat in various Las Vegas casinos.

Mikki Mase Detained with 3 Others but Released Shortly After

The men were released shortly after being questioned. LAPD Officer Jayder Chavez stated that no evidence was discovered at the scene. The police did not disclose the identities of those involved. Mase, reached by phone on Monday, asserted that walking on a public walkway is not a crime and clarified that they were not on private property. He mentioned observing fireworks earlier in the night, and figured everyone was having a good time.

Mase alleged that police officers pointed guns at him and the others before explaining their detention. However, the investigation concluded without any arrests being made, leaving the circumstances surrounding the incident somewhat ambiguous.

Mase Ironically was arrested wearing a Hustler Casino Live hoodie, a Live poker streaming show that has seen its fair share of controversy. One such incident involved a player nicknamed GT, accusing another player, Luda Chris, of being aware of the next cards. GT also suggested the player was wearing a wire or a similar device. Chris proclaimed his innocence and even volunteered to be stripped searched.

Nick Vertucci, co-owner of Hustler Casino Live, made light of the incident on X (Formally Twitter), joking that his show was to blame. Mikki Mase has appeared on Hustler Casino Live 9 times, with a net loss of $939k.
