Wolfgang’s flat Call on the Flop Wins the Max Vs Hai at Poker At The Lodge

The hand was played at Poker At the Lodge between Alexander “Wolfgang” Seibt & Hai, with the blinds set at $5/$10/$10. The action was live-streamed on Poker At the Lodge’s YouTube Channel on the 18th April 2024.

In the High-Jack Big Tony ($4.2k) got things underway by raising it up to $100 with KKing of ClubsJJoker of Spades. This was met by a call from Hai ($7.3k) in the cut-off who had been dealt QQueen of Hearts99 of Hearts. In position on the button Wolfgang ($10.3k) had woken up with a monster, he ramped up the ante by chucking out a 3-bet to $450 with the Ladies QQueen of ClubsQQueen of Spades. The raise was enough to get the rest of the table to fold except Hai. Off to the flop the pair went with $1,050 in the middle.

What a Clever flat Call from Wolfgang

the flop came down 44 of Diamonds99 of Spades88 of Spades giving Hai top pair with a respectable kicker. After being checked to, Wolfgang bet out $400. Hai could have played this hand in several ways, he opted to find out where he was at in the hand and put out a re-raise to $1,000. The raise was called, and to the turn, they went with the pot now standing tall at $3,050.

After the 22 of Hearts was revealed, first to act Hai led out $1,500 into his opponent. After quite a bit of deliberation, Wolfgang moved “All in”. Although with enough fold equity, Hai had no intention of folding and made the call. Both players agreed to run the $15k pot twice.

There were no lucky rivers for Hai, and Alexander took down the huge $15k pot, props to Wolfgang for just flatting the raise on the flop in position.
