The high-stakes poker event will take place at the luxurious Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa from August 23rd-25th, 2024. It will coincide with the grand opening of the resort’s new, extravagant Onyx Club.
The Super High Roller Bowl IX is the highlight of the 2024 PokerGO Tour® (PGT®) schedule, featuring a hefty $300,000 buy-in, seven-handed play, and a freezeout format. This event promises to attract the world’s elite poker players, competing for one of the most coveted titles in poker.
In a notable shift, all events in this year’s series will follow a freezeout format, providing a more level playing field and offering players of all abilities a fair chance to win. The series includes ten events with buy-ins ranging from $25,000 to $300,000, spanning from August 17 to August 25, 2024. The schedule features both no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha events, with two $25,000 mystery bounty tournaments adding an extra layer of excitement.
Isaac Haxton, made history last season by clinching his second Super High Roller Bowl title. Haxton defeated Andrew Lichtenberger to win $2.76 million, joining the ranks of two-time winners alongside Timothy Adams. Haxton’s triumph saw him outlast a final table featuring top pros Bryn Kenney, Jason Koon, and Stephen Chidwick.
Merit’s Onyx Club, an exclusive invite-only members club, is set to host the series within its purpose-built Onyx Room. This venue promises the ultimate poker experience for high-stakes players, offering a versatile space for cash games, live gaming, and a state-of-the-art TV set for final tables.
