James “Jaime” Staples, also known by his online alias, PokerStaples, is a long-time poker streamer from Canada. He is currently sponsored by partypoker and is a former PokerStars ambassador. Jaime and his brother, Matt Staples, gained a lot of fame through a documented weight loss challenge.

Jaime’s first finish in the money was at the 44th WSOP in June 2013. He entered in the $1,500 No Limit Hold ‘Em Millionaire Maker event and finished 500th for a cash of $3,510.

Staple’s next notable cash came in February 2016 at an EPT event in Dublin. He finished 43rd in the €5,000+300 No Limit Hold’Em Main Event and cashed €11,440.

In August 2017, Jaime had his first tournament win at a PokerStars Championship event in Barcelona. In the €550 Pot Limit Omaha Turbo event he finished 1st and cashed €22,735, or $26,798, which remains his biggest live cash to date.  His second win came 7 months later at a Run It Up Reno event in a $100+25 No Limit Hold’Em for a cash of $5,739, Just 2 days later, in a higher stakes Run It Up Reno NLHE event, he finished 3rd and cashed $26,320.

Jaime’s biggest documented online cash was in a $5,000+300 NLHE partypoker MILLIONS Online event where he finished 20th and cashed $35,084.

Although PokerStaples is primarily an online player and streamer, he is a decorated player on the live felt as well, with $135k in live earnings.
