Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ema’s family moved to Quebec after the war in 1996. She earned a degree in Public Relations from Laval University and later pursued a master’s degree in Political Communication.

Ema’s first recorded live cash occurred in August 2011 where she placed 9th in a €400 + 30 No Limit Hold’em – Turbo Bounty II at the EPT in Barcelona. She cashed $1,556.

During WPT Playground in Kahnawake in February 2017, she won $183,788. Ema placed 1st in a C$3,200 + 300 No Limit Hold’em – WPT Main Event (Event #10).

Zajmovic became the first woman to win an open WPT Championship event for $183,788.

She secured her biggest live cash of $424,511 at the partypoker WPT Montreal by finishing in 2nd place. Ema entered the C$5,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event #2 in October 2018.
