David Peat, also known as Viffer, is a professional poker player who has transitioned away from live tournaments and now exclusively directs his attention to high-stakes cash games. He is from Cleveland, Ohio, and he is best known for appearing on Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, PokerStars’ Big Game, and Hustler Casino Live.

Viffer: Cash Game Participation

Viffer has been actively participating in high-stakes cash games ever since. His first recorded cash game appearance was in July 2008 during Season 4, Episode 1 of Poker After Dark (PAD). In this No Limit Hold’em game with stakes set at $200/400, he played at the table alongside renowned poker players like Allen Cunningham, Phil Hellmuth, and Tom Dwan. Unfortunately, rather than securing a win in that specific episode, he incurred a loss of $25,100.

July 2008 marked one of Viffer’s notable setbacks on Poker After Dark. In Season 4, Episode 5, he experienced a significant loss amounting to $163,100.

In March 2009, Viffer made a comeback by winning a significant amount in a $400/800 No Limit Hold’em game. During this session, he competed against poker legends like Doyle Brunson, Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu, and more in Season 5 of High Stakes Poker, ultimately securing $122,000 in winnings.

Viffer Poker Journey On Hustler Casino Live

David Peat has made just one appearance on HCL. It was a no-limits game with stakes set at $100/$200 in December 2021. At the table, he played alongside familiar HCL faces like Andy Stacks, Ronnie Ebanks, Lynne Ji, and more. Unfortunately, in that episode (Episode 89), he didn’t come out on top and ended up losing $2,900.

Viffer: Live Tournament Participation

Viffer consistently favored cash games over tournaments, leading to only three documented cashes on his Hendon page spanning from 2005 to 2007. In contrast, Peat made his tournament debut at the 2005 World Series of Poker, securing the 145th spot out of 2,305 participants in his inaugural live tournament appearance.

In April 2007, he came in second in a poker game at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. He won $202,455, which was the most money he’d ever won in a single tournament at that time.

The next month, in May 2007, he ended up in seventh place and won $72,047 in the $10,000 NLHE Championship event at the Mirage Poker Showdown, also held in Las Vegas.
