Andy Tsai perhaps better known as Andy Stacks, is a Taiwanese poker player based in Los Angeles. Tsai is one of the most well-known players in the high-stakes No Limit Hold’em poker scene. He can frequently be seen on the popular live streams Hustler Casino Live and Live at the Bike in Los Angeles.

He is well-known for his massive tower of chip stacks, which earned him the nickname “Andy Stacks” He is now focused on building his personal brand and promoting poker in Asia as a brand ambassador for GGPoker’s Team China called GGPUKE and through his Chinese training site, StacksPoker.co.

Andy Stacks: Early Life

Andy Tsai was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States when he was a child. He grew up in California and began playing poker when he was only 18 years old.

Andy discovered the wonderful game of poker at the start of the poker boom (2003). He honed his skills by participating in underground games with a small bankroll and playing at the lowest stakes. Stacks worked his way up and is now playing in some of the biggest games in the world.

Andy Stacks Poker Career

Andy’s primary focus is deep stack cash games, where he has competed in and won multiple 6-figure pots against some of the world’s best high-stakes players.

He first competed in a tournament in March 2010 at the Winnin’ o’ The Green in Los Angeles (Bell Gardens). He finished 36th and earned $950.

While cash games are his primary focus in poker, he does participate in the occasional poker tournament. Andy also had a strong showing and made a deep run in the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2019, finishing 142nd out of 8,567 entrants. His largest cash in a live tournament was $59,295 for his efforts.

In February 2020, he competed in another live tournament at the World Poker Tour Poker Classic in Los Angeles, finishing 38th and earning $24,375.

Andy Stacks has now won over $1.2 million in poker cash games. He also recently earned $93,750 on HCL Episode 529 in September 2023. Tsai last participated in a tournament in August 2022 at the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker in Los Angeles (Bell Gardens).

First, he mentioned its flexibility, stating that cash games are more flexible than tournaments because you can start and stop at any time in cash games, whereas tournaments are time-consuming for him.
