Phil Ivey continues his pursuit of Triton Title #6

In the recent Triton Poker stop in Jeju, South Korea, Phil Ivey showcased why he is one of the best in the business, by adding another impressive finish to his illustrious career.

Event #15, the $50k Pot Limit Omaha in Jeju witnessed a fierce battle between Ivey and Biao Ding, with Ivey narrowly missing out on clinching the title. Despite finishing as the runner-up, Ivey’s performance added to his consistency in maintaining results at the top of the game. securing his fourth cash of the stop and marking his tenth Triton cash since the start of 2023.

For Ivey, this event was not just about the pursuit of another title but also about bridging the gap with the runaway leader, Jason Koon, who boasts an impressive tally of 10 Triton titles.

Meanwhile, Biao Ding, the eventual winner of Event #15, showcased his brilliance, by securing his second Triton title after a victory in the $30,000 NLHE Mystery Bounty in Northern Cyprus last year. Ding’s stellar performance in Jeju, includes a second-place finish in Event #9: $150K NLH 8-Handed.

The Final Table Was a Star-Studded Affair

The final table in Jeju was a star-studded affair, with notable players Nacho Barbero, Patrik Antonius, and Paul Phua.

Nacho Barbero from Argentina was the first to exit the tournament, finishing in 8th place with earnings of $152,500.
Patrik Antonius from Finland followed, exiting in 7th place with earnings of $200,000.
Ole Schemion from Germany was eliminated in 6th place, earning $247,500.
Stephen Chidwick from the United Kingdom finished in 5th place, taking home $317,500.
Paul Phua from Malaysia was ousted in 4th place, earning $401,000.
Jared Bleznick from the United States exited in 3rd place, earning $490,000.
Phil Ivey from the United States ultimately finished as the runner-up, securing 2nd place with winnings totaling $755,000.
Biao Ding from China emerged victorious earning $1,107,000.
