The action began with four straddlers, with the final straddle amounting to €6,200 being put out by Martin Kabrhel (€339k) who had been dealt AAce of SpadesQQueen of Spades. In the small blind Santhosh Suvarna (€194k) made the €6,200 call with JJoker of Clubs1010 of Diamonds. The big blind got out of the way, as did Elky the UTG initial straddler of €600. Next up was Leon (€79.2k) in the +1 who was the second straddler, he put in a further €4,800 to see the flop with KKing of Diamonds77 of Hearts. Although it was the last hand of the night, Rob Yong had no intention to play “The Robbi” JJoker of Diamonds44 of Spades. He folded in the High-Jack, having straddled for €3,000.

Last to act Was Martin, who given the circumstances had a very strong hand with his Ace-Queen. He opted to play it aggressively raising it up to €31,400. Santhosh known for playing a loose game made the call with his Jack-Ten off suit. This was followed by a fold from Leon. Heads up to the flop they went with an incredible €74,000 in the middle.

The Absolute Dream Flop for Santhosh

What an absolute dream flop for Santhosh QQueen of Hearts99 of Diamonds88 of Diamonds not only had he flopped the nut straight, his opponent had top pair top kicker. The action was checked over to Martin who put out a bet of €32k. Santhosh elected to play the hand slow on the flop by just calling. The pot stood at €138k going to the turn.

The Turn was as good as it gets when the 22 of Spades landed. a Ten, Jack, Diamond could have all killed the action. Once again suvarna continued to slow play his hand, checking it over to the pre flop aggressor. It’s worth pointing out that Santhosh only had $131k left behind at this point. So it’s no surprise that the bet from Martin was a big one. $110k was the asking price, rather then just flat Santhosh got the remainder of his stack in the middle. Martin most likely sensed he was behind, but could never fold of course. After making the $21.1k he received the worst possible news, he was drawing dead.

Just like that Santhosh scooped the €400k pot. To see how the hand played out, check out the video below.
