Ronnie’s river Jam Has Vertucci Questioning His hand Strength

River bluff or Value bet?. After watching the hand a few times we are still still uncertain. David Tuchman was also left scratching his head unsure of Ronnie’s intention. Let’s take a look at the hand in question that occurred during a Thirsty Thursday stream at Hustler Casino Live. It was live streamed on Hustler Casino’s YouTube channel on the 15th February 2024. The hand was played between Ronnie Ebanks  & Nick Vertucci with the blinds being $10/$20/$40 + a $20 BB Ante.

The action began with Tyler D ($4,920) raising it up to $100 from under the gun with 99 of Hearts66 of Hearts this was instantly met by aggression as Ronnie ($7,220) in the +1 chucked in a 3-bet to $300. The rest of the table folded until it was Vertucci’s ($19,090) turn to act in the third blind. Surprisingly he just flatted with pocket Jack’s JJoker of SpadesJJoker of Hearts this ultimately led to his downfall as he had no idea Where Ronnie’s hand strength lay. Tyler Put in an extra $200 and three way they went with the pot standing at $950.

Nick Continued to Play His Jack’s Slowly

The flop came down 55 of Spades33 of Diamonds55 of Clubs all low cards and both Ronnie and Nick must have been happy with their over pairs. Last to act Ronnie fired out with a bet of $500. Just like before Vertucci continued to play his Jack’s passively by just calling. Having completely missed the flop Tyler folded, heads up to the turn with $1,950 in the middle.

After another low card card landed on the board 99 of Diamonds Ronnie responded with a bet standing at close to three Quarters of the pot. $1,500 was the amount Nick was facing, he wasted little time reaching for chips and matched the bet. Off to the river they went with the pot standing tall at $4,950.

On the river was an over card QQueen of Spades to the pair’s pocket pair, however neither player should have feared it, a hand like Ace-Queen King-queen did not make much sense. Once checked to Ronnie reacted with full force “All in” was his play for his remaining $4,920.

After a lot of pondering Vertucci laid down the best hand. Had he put out a 4-bet pre flop you have to feel this hand would have played out very differently. We still have no idea if Ronnie’s jam was a value bet or not, I guess only he knows the real answer to that Question.
