Zhuang Ruan is an American professional poker player from Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. He boasts over $2.8 million in total live earnings with his largest win of $1,640,000.
In high school, Ruan enjoyed playing video games such as Minecraft and League of Legends. Unlike many other poker players, he wasn’t initially a fan of poker or watching it on television. It was his mother who pushed him to pursue it. Ruan’s first experience with poker came through Runescape, he converted in-game gold into real money, marking the beginning of his journey into real-money poker.
Zhuang Ruan first appeared in a recorded live tournament in January 2019. He entered the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in a $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha event. He finished first taking home a cash prize of $20,260.
Following his initial success, Ruan triumphed at the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa in June 2021. He dominated in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event. He won a whopping $562,600.
During the Merit Poker – Super High Roller Bowl Europe in Kyrenia in August 2021, Ruan secured a remarkable 3rd place finish. He joined in a $250,000 No Limit Hold’em SHRB Europe Main Event. He secured a grand prize of $1,640,000, his largest live cash.
His most recent appearance was in March 2022. Zhuang competed in the PokerGO Tour U.S. Poker Open in Las Vegas. He finished 3rd in a $50,000 No Limit Hold’em event and cashed for $336,000.
In August 2021, Ruan competed in two online events at the World Series of Poker Online hosted by GGPoker. On August 9th, he cashed for $2,626 in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em – Double Stack event.
Later, on August 22nd, he earned $14,684 in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event Online Championship.
