Zak Gilbert began his poker career in May 2003 when he entered a $100 No Limit Hold’em event at the Summer Pot of Gold in Reno. He finished in 13th place and cashed $385.

Then, in March 2005, Gilbert participated in the $1,000 + 60 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the 2005 World Poker Challenge in Reno. He achieved 2nd place and earned $36,444.

Following that success, in March 2009, he played in a $3,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the World Poker Challenge in Reno. Once again, he finished in 2nd place and earned $93,678.

In August 2014, Gilbert entered the $1,650 No Limit Hold’em World Championship Main Event #13 during the Ante Up Poker Tour World Championship in Lincoln. He placed 4th and cashed $30,593.
