Ville Wahlbeck is a Finnish-American professional poker player with over $1.82 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $492,384 came when he won his first WSOP bracelet at the 40th WSOP in Las Vegas in June 2009. Before his poker career, Wahlbeck worked as a freelance journalist in Helsinki and spent a few years teaching elementary school.
Ville Wahlbeck recorded his first live cash in May 2004, winning the €640 The Baltic Hold’em Championship. At the Baltic Open Championships in Tallinn, he earned $7,729 for this victory.
In June 2005, Wahlbeck claimed 1st place in the €120 NLH event at the Midnight Sun in Helsinki, he added $14,056 to his earnings.
His best live cash came in June 2009 at the 40th WSOP in Las Vegas. He won the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Events – 8 Game, securing a massive $492,384.
That same series, Wahlbeck finished 2nd in the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw, earning an additional $172,863.
In October 2009, Wahlbeck took down the €10,600 No Limit Hold’em High Roller Event at the PokerStars Baltic Festival in Tallinn, pocketing $77,514.
Wahlbeck added in August 2010, another title by winning the €2,100 PLO event. There, at the Finnish Open Championships in Helsinki, he earned $58,230.
In March 2013, he won the £10,300 8 Game Championships at EPT London, earning $115,450.
Wahlbeck was last seen participating in January 2020, finishing 4th in the €2,050 NLH/PLO event at the Helsinki Freezeout, where he collected $9,886.
