Ugur Marangoz’s first live cash was recorded in July 2004 at the Orleans Open in Las Vegas. He participated in $125 Limit Hold’em, placing 8th and earned $1,960.

In July 2005, Marangoz competed in $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship Event at the 36th WSOP in Las Vegas. He placed 250th and took home $28,375.

The following year, in February 2006, Marangoz cashed in two L.A. Poker Classic events in Los Angeles. First, in $10,000 Championship Event No Limit Hold’em, he finished 43rd and earned $19,930. Then, in WPT Invitiational No Limit Hold’em, he finished 6th and added $5,000 to his earnings.
