Ugur Marangoz’s first live cash was recorded in July 2004 at the Orleans Open in Las Vegas. He participated in $125 Limit Hold’em, placing 8th and earned $1,960.

In July 2005, Marangoz competed in $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship Event at the 36th WSOP in Las Vegas. He placed 250th and took home $28,375.
