Tony Lay first recorded live cash occurred in January 2004 at the The Fifth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica. He finished in 2nd place in a $1,000 + 60 Pot Limit Omaha, cashing $75,363.

In August 2005, Tony played in a $1,000 + 60 No Limit Hold’em at the WSOP Circuit in Tunica. He finished in 1st place and won his biggest live cash of $115,175.

During the Oklahoma State Championship of Poker in Tulsa in February 2008, he finished in 2nd place. Tony took part in a $3,000 + 150 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event and earned $64,960.

Following this, Tony entered in a $3,000 + 150 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event at Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge V in Tulsa in November 2008. He finished in 3rd place and took home $48,283.

Later in January 2009, he engaged in a $500 + 50 No Limit Hold’em during Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi. He finished in first place and won $70,023.
