Tom Jacobs was an American professional poker player from Las Vegas, Nevada, with over $1.3M in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $353,500 came when he finished in 2nd place at the 23rd WSOP in May 1992. During his poker career, he won at the 34th WSOP in May 2003. He passed away on March 11, 2007.
Tom Jacobs first recorded live cash occurred in January 1985 at the Grand Prix of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place in a $1,000 Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, cashing $15,830.
Fast forward to May 1992. At the 23rd WSOP in Las Vegas, he secured his biggest live cash of $353,500. In this event, he engaged in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship and finished in 2nd place.
Three years later, in May 1995, Tom entered in a $2,500 Hold’em Pot Limit at the 26th WSOP. He finished in 2nd place and cashed $81,500.
Continuing his career, he joined in a $2,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 33rd WSOP in April 2002. Tom finished in 2nd place and earned a cash prize of $156,160.
Year later, in May 2003, he won his first bracelet in a $3,000 Limit Hold’em at the 34th WSOP, winning $163,000 in prize money.
Following this, he competed in a $25,000 WPT No Limit Hold’em – Final Day at the WPT Championship in April 2004. He placed 7th and took home $166,330.
Tom’s final tournament participation was in November 2004. He finished in 14th place in a $2,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em at the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic, earning $5,681. This event occurred three years before his passing in 2007.
