Tim McDermott is an American poker player who currently calls Las Vegas, Nevada his home. He has total live earnings of $1,077,920. A career highlight for him was on July 2nd, 2021, during the DeepStack Championship Poker Series in Las Vegas, United States, where he finished 4th in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em WPT Venetian (Event #88), earning $335,200.

Alongside his professional endeavors, Tim maintains diverse interests including playing the piano and rock climbing. McDermott embarked on his poker journey on October 13th, 2004, at the Big Poker Oktober event in Los Angeles (Bell Gardens). There, he secured 26th position in the $200 No Limit Hold’em tournament, earning $595.

On June 10th, 2011, at the 13th Annual Battle of the Bay in San Francisco, he claimed 2nd spot in the $350 No Limit Hold’em – Re-Entry event, walking away with $10,000.

Impressive WSOP Performances

His talent extends to prestigious events like the World Series of Poker (WSOP). During the 49th WSOP on June 5th, 2018, in Las Vegas. McDermott excelled with a 2nd place finish in the $1,500 No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw (Event #14) earning $54,180. 

The following year, at the 50th WSOP on June 3rd, 2019. He showcased his skills again, placing 2nd in the $1,500 Dealers Choice – 6-Handed event (Event #10) and collecting $89,567.

Most recently, McDermott participated in the 55th WSOP on June 15th, 2024, in Las Vegas, finishing 22nd in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha – Double Board Bomb Pot (Bracelet Event #41) and secured $10,918.
