Born in Nha Trang, Vietnam, Mimi relocated to the United States in 1982. She previously worked in the electronics industry in Silicon Valley. Her poker journey began in 1989 when she met Barry Greenstein, who taught her the game in exchange for lessons in Vietnamese.
