Thang Pham, also known as “Kido,” is a Vietnamese-American poker player from Garland, Texas. His poker career began to gain momentum when he won his first ring at the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) in Las Vegas in November 2005. This early success marked a significant milestone in his journey.

As he continued to compete, Kido achieved one of his most notable accomplishments in October 2004, when he finished in 2nd place at the Festa al Lago III Poker Tournament, earning a cash prize of $496,400. This impressive finish contributed to his overall tournament earnings, which now exceed $2.6 million.

He was also sponsored by the now-defunct Full Tilt Poker.

Thang Pham: Early Life

Thang “Kido” Pham was born in Vietnam and later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he runs a dental clinic with his wife. His journey into the world of poker began to gain attention when he made a memorable appearance at the 2005 Mirage Poker Showdown, a World Poker Tour televised final table. Although he finished in fourth place, his outspoken and friendly personality left a lasting impression on the audience.

Pham’s poker journey is deeply influenced by his experiences, having escaped from war-torn Vietnam, which instilled in him a natural tendency to take risks at the table. This bold approach paid off when he secured his first major ring title at the 2005 World Series of Poker circuit event, showcasing his skill and willingness to gamble.

Thang Pham: Live Tournament Participation

Thang Pham’s poker career includes several significant tournament results. First, entering the $3,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em Final Day at the Festa al Lago III Poker Tournament in Las Vegas on October 17, 2004, he finished in 8th place, earning $9,617.

Two days later, on October 19, 2004, Pham participated in the $10,000 + 200 Doyle Brunson North American No Limit Hold’em event, also at the Festa al Lago III. He secured 2nd place, earning $496,400.

Next, competing in May 2005, he took part in the $10,000 + 200 WPT No Limit Hold’em Championship at the Mirage Poker Showdown in Las Vegas. Pham finished in 4th place, cashing $182,964.

Later, in November 2005, he won the $10,000 Championship Event – No Limit Hold’em at the WSOPC in Las Vegas, finishing in 1st place and taking home $453,456.

Following this success, during May 2007, Pham entered the $5,000 + 150 No Limit Hold’em event at the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge in Tulsa. He finished in 1st place and won $176,359.

Furthermore, in October 2007, he placed 2nd in the $9,800 + 200 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at Caesars Palace Classic in Las Vegas, earning $480,167.

In September 2022, Pham participated in the $300 No Limit Hold’em – $200 Bounty at the Labor Day River Poker Series in Thackerville, where he finished in 16th place, cashing $149.
