At seventeen, Teun Mulder began playing poker casually with friends, unaware it would evolve into a career. Despite his initial lack of skill, he found himself drawn to the game. His interest grew, and he began playing more frequently, both with friends and online. he deposited €10, turning it into €100, but lost it playing higher-stakes online poker games. After completing high school, he enrolled in econometrics in Rotterdam, a path influenced by societal expectations. However, juggling the demanding forty-hour-a-week econometrics program with his poker pursuits and football commitments proved challenging. After three years, he made the difficult decision to leave econometrics and transitioned to studying philosophy.
Mulder transitioned from depositing small sums of money and losing at higher stakes to adopting a more serious poker approach.
