Steven Michael Simmons began his poker career in October 1990 at the Oktober Pokerfest in Los Angeles. He played a $200 + $25 1/2 7 Card Stud and 1/2 Hold’em event, finishing 4th and cashing $2,430.
Then, in September 2004, he entered the Plaza Ultimate Poker Challenge in Las Vegas, a $1,000 + $60 No Limit Hold’em tournament, where he finished 1st and earned $8,700.
Later, in February 2006, he participated in the L.A. Poker Classic, entering a $9,600 + $400 Championship Event – No Limit Hold’em. Here, he placed 4th and earned $338,803.
