Steve Yea

Steve “Joonhee” Yea is a Korean professional poker player from Seoul, with over $2.6 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $250,000 came when he finished in 2nd place at the APT Macau in August 2008.

Additionally, Steve signed a sponsorship deal with the Korean media outlet Bluff & Catch and has also appeared on Bally Live Poker.

Steve launched his YouTube channel “SteveYea,” on July 27th, 2016, amassing a subscriber count of 29,200. He shares his travels for tours and records videos about poker, travel, food, and lifestyle.

Steve Yea: Live Tournament Participation

Steve Yea’s first recorded live cash occurred in August 2007 during the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles. He finished in 25th place in a $485 + 45 No Limit Hold’em, cashing $1,175.

In August 2008, Steve played in a $5,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em at the Asian Poker Tour in Macau. He finished in 2nd place and secured his biggest live cash of $250,000 to date.

At the Asian Poker Tour in Manila in January 2009, he earned a cash prize of $100,000. Steve joined in a $2,500 + 200 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event and secured 2nd place.

Moving in March 2019, Steve entered in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – WPT Championship Event #62 at the Los Angeles Poker Classic. He finished in 6th place and earned a substantial prize of $201,650.

In June 2021, he competed in a KRW2,000,000 No Limit Hold’em at the APL High Roller Series in South Korea. He finished in 1st place and won $114,249.

Later in October of that year, Steve participated in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – 6 Handed Championship Event #56 at the 52nd WSOP in Las Vegas. He finished in 5th place and took home $137,303.

Steve Yea debuted in BLP Episode 103 on September 5th, 2024. He participated in a $25/50 +$50BBA ($100) No Limit Hold ’em with Player L, Perry Zhao, Peter Cross, and others. He ended the night up $1,400.
