Shawn Rice is an American professional poker player and instructor for the World Series of Poker Academy from Lubbock, Texas, with over $1.4 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $213,000 came when he finished in 2nd place at the 35th WSOP in April 2004.

Shawn Rice’s first recorded live cash occurred in April 1994 at the 25th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 12th place in a $1,500 Omaha 8 or Better, cashing $4,050.

In April 2004, Shawn played in a $2,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 35th WSOP. He finished in 2nd place and secured his biggest live cash of $213,000 to date.

At the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III in Las Vegas in June 2010, he earned a cash prize of $68,925. Shawn participated in a $1,000 + 70 No Limit Hold’em and finished in 2nd place.

Later in July of that year, he participated in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship at the 41st WSOP. Shawn secured 229th place and cashed $48,847.

Continuing his career, he competed in a $1,1000 No Limit Hold’em – Seniors at the Wynn Fall Classic in Las Vegas in October 2021. Shawn clinched victory and won $116,039.

Moreover, on July 3rd, 2024, he entered in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – World Championship Bracelet Event #81 at the 55th WSOP. He placed 283rd and earned a prize of $50,000.
