As a kid in upstate New York, Shaun Deeb loved hosting $20 poker games at home while watching poker on TV. When he turned 18, he started playing online, he realised he could make a career out of the game, and decided to quit college.
Shaun Deeb is infamous for slowrolling, at the end of a hand, he takes his sweet time before revealing his winning cards, making it seem like he’s lost. Sometimes, he acts like he’s thinking about folding, even when he has the best hand. Most players consider this rude, but Deeb thinks it’s just a bit of fun and does it often.
His journey began on November 29th, 2006, in Verona, United States, where he made his tournament debut at the East Coast Poker Championships. Competing in the $550 No Limit Hold’em event, Shaun showcased his skills and finished impressively in 7th place, pocketing $1,791.
Fast forward to January 12th, 2013, in Paradise Island, Bahamas, Shaun continued to make waves, this time at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure – PCA 2013. In the prestigious $25,500 No Limit Hold’em High Roller (Event #30), he secured a 5th place finish, earning a substantial $289,880.
Shaun’s dominance only grew in subsequent years. On June 4th, 2015, in Las Vegas, United States, at the 46th World Series of Poker, he claimed victory in the WSOP $10,000 Pot Limit Hold’em Championship (Event #15), capturing the coveted bracelet and a payday of $318,857.
The winning streak persisted. On June 28th, 2016, again in Las Vegas, Shaun triumphed in the WSOP $1,500 Seven Card Stud (Event #49) at the 47th World Series of Poker, adding another bracelet to his collection and $111,101 to his bankroll.
July 11th, 2018, marked another milestone as Shaun clinched the top spot in the WSOP $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – 6 Handed Big Blind Ante (Event #74), taking home an impressive $814,179.
His skills extended beyond the World Series of Poker. Furthermore, on August 13th, 2018, in Hollywood, United States, at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Shaun secured a 2nd place finish in the $25,500 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller (Event #22), earning $534,989.
Continuing his dominance at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Shaun returned on August 12th, 2019, to claim victory in the $25,500 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller (Event #23), adding $778,300 to his ever-growing winnings.
One of his achievements came on October 27th, 2021, in Las Vegas, where Shaun emerged victorious in the WSOP PKRGO $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller – 8 Handed (Event #53), securing an astounding $1,251,860 payday.
However, even the most successful careers have their fluctuations. Despite this, Shaun’s latest appearance on June 5th, 2024, in Las Vegas, saw him compete in the WSOP $800 No Limit Hold’em – Deepstack (Bracelet Event #17). Though finishing in 138th place, he still walked away with $3,276, a testament to his enduring skill and resilience in the competitive world of poker.
