Shannon Shorr is an American professional poker player and coach at PokerCoaching.com, originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Born on July 7th, 1985, he currently has over $13.2 million in live tournament earnings, with his largest live cash being $960,690. Additionally, Shorr has secured two WSOP bracelets and a WSOPC ring. These achievements were all earned online during WSOP bracelet events in October 2023 and a WSOPC ring event in January 2024.
Shannon Shorr recorded his first live cash in January 2006. He participated in a A$10,000 + 500 Main Event No Limit Hold’em at the Crown Australian Poker Championships in Melbourne. He placed 4th and took home $199,129.
Later that year, in August 2006, Shorr achieved his best live cash at the Bellagio Cup II in Las Vegas. He competed in a $10,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em event. Shorr finished 1st and won $960,690.
Following this, in July 2012, Shorr finished 3rd in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event at the 43rd WSOP in Las Vegas, receiving $455,362 in prize money.
In September 2021, Shorr finished 1st place in Event #1 of the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em, at the PokerGO Tour Poker Masters in Las Vegas. He won an impressive $205,000.
Subsequently, in June 2022, he placed 4th in a $50,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller 8-Handed event at the 53rd WSOP in Las Vegas, earning $436,412.
Moreover, in August 2023, Shorr finished 2nd in a $5,300 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open in Hollywood, taking home $545,000.
Most recently, in July 2024, Shorr participated in a $777 No Limit Hold’em – Lucky 7’s – 7-Handed Bracelet Event at the 55th WSOP in Las Vegas, where he finished 457th and cashed for $1,815.
Shorr captured two WSOP bracelets in October 2023 and a WSOPC ring in January 2024. On October 1, 2023, he secured a first-place victory in a $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max Online Bracelet Event hosted on WSOP.com, winning $89,126 and his first WSOP gold bracelet.
Shortly after, on October 12, 2023, Shorr claimed another first-place finish in a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout Online Bracelet Event, on WSOP.com, taking home $35,539 and his second WSOP gold bracelet.
His achievements continued into January 2024, when he won the $320 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack Online Ring Event at the WSOP Circuit Online, winning $35,135 and a WSOPC ring
