Scotty Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player from Las Vegas, Nevada, with over $12.3 million in live tournament earnings. During his poker career, he has earned five bracelets, his largest live cash of $1,989,120 came when he clinched his fifth bracelet at the 39th WSOP in June 2008.

In addition, he became an ambassador for various sites. In 2008, he agreed to promote the poker room Cherokee Casino by wearing logo items at all final tables. Scotty signed on as an ambassador for the online gaming company Expekt in 2009. Later, in 2018, he also became the official site ambassador for Cryptonia Poker.

Scotty Nguyen: Early Life

Scotty Nguyen was born on October 28, 1962, in Nha Trang, Vietnam. As a child, his mother sent him to Taiwan to avoid the political troubles in Vietnam. He moved to the United States when he was 14 and started playing poker as a teenager. He was expelled for spending too much time in underground poker games. By the time he was 21, Nguyen was working as a dealer at Harrah’s Poker Room, where he first developed his passion for playing poker professionally.
