Scotty Nguyen: Early Life

Scotty Nguyen was born on October 28, 1962, in Nha Trang, Vietnam. As a child, his mother sent him to Taiwan to avoid the political troubles in Vietnam. He moved to the United States when he was 14 and started playing poker as a teenager. He was expelled for spending too much time in underground poker games. By the time he was 21, Nguyen was working as a dealer at Harrah’s Poker Room, where he first developed his passion for playing poker professionally.
