Sam Grizzle was an American professional poker player from Tonawanda, Nevada. He passed away at the age of 67 on October 20, 2020, after suffering a massive stroke. Grizzle had total live earnings of $1.3 million. His best live cash was $70,400, which he earned in July 2020 when he finished 3rd in the WSOP Online 2020 at WSOP.com.
Sam Grizzle recorded his first live cash in November 1988. He finished 4th in the Pot Limit Omaha event at the Malta European Poker Championship in St. Julian’s. He earned $2,527 for his efforts.
In January 1989, Grizzle won the $2,550 NLH event at the Super Stars of Poker in Tahoe, winning $65,813.
In August 1991, he won the $1,550 1/2 Hold’em, 1/2 Lowball event at the 7th Annual Diamond Jim Brady in Los Angeles. He took home $70,400.
In April 2000, Grizzle secured another victory, finishing 1st in the $1,570 Limit Hold’em event at The First Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica, earning $52,962.
