Russell Salzer’s poker career began with a notable result in the $500 + $30 Omaha Hi/Lo Championship at the California State Poker Championship in Los Angeles in June 1993, he finished in 9th place and earned $1,080.

Over a decade later, in April 2003, Salzer achieved significant success by winning the $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo event at the World Poker Tour Championship in Las Vegas. This victory secured him 1st place and a prize of $74,496.
