Roy Thung’s first recorded live cash occurred in January 1994 during the Queens Poker Classic IV in Las Vegas. He finished in 5th place in a $1,000 + 50 Pot Limit Omaha, cashing $11,055.

During the Carnivale of Poker in Las Vegas in January 19998, he finished in 1st place. Roy took part in a $1,000 + 60 No Limit Hold’em and won his biggest live cash of $108,000.

Later in April of that year, he participated in a $1,500 Omaha Pot Limit at the 29th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Roy finished in 3rd place and earned $38,700.
