Robert Hume’s live poker tournament career began in November 2004. He participated in a United States $2,150 No Limit Hold’em event at the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket. Hume finished in 4th place and pocketed $41,659.

In January 2005, Hume competed in a $2,080 No Limit Hold’em event at the Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica. He ended up in 5th place and earned $41,070.

Months later, he claimed two victories at the March 2005 World Poker Challenge in Reno. In $1,060 No Limit Hold’em event, he won $31,329. Then, in $225 No Limit Hold’em event, he won $14,550 in prize money.

July 2005 saw Hume made his biggest live cash to date at the 36th WSOP in Las Vegas. He participated in a $1,000 Seniors No Limit Hold’em event and finished 2nd, earning an impressive $106,230.

In April 2008, Hume took part in a $2,000 No Limit Hold’em event at the IP Poker Classic in Biloxi. He finished in 2nd place and earned $27,010.

Three years later, in December 2011, he finished 3rd in a $1,080 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at the Christmas Classic in West Palm Beach, cashing $38,255.

In December 2012, he played again in the Christmas Classic in West Palm Beach, entering in a $125 No Limit Hold’em Bounty Event. There, he claimed victory and won $2,950.
