Rob Yong: Early Life

Rob grew up in humble beginnings, making money by selling small pieces of antique ornaments with his childhood friend. He always had a business sense and understood that he needed to work for what he wanted in life. Like many successful businessmen, Rob Yong left college early and found himself working for a recruiting agency and then turned around over a year later to open his own agency.

Rob Yong: Poker Business Ventures

After being turned away from a poker tournament for being a minute late, Rob Yong decided to open his own cardroom. In 2007, he opened the famous Dusk Till Dawn cardroom in Nottingham. Rob has concentrated on low-stakes recreational players since DTD’s inception. He made sure they received the same level of service as the high rollers in most other establishments. He also began to offer large guarantees in small buy-in poker tournaments, betting that the small field sizes would pay off his investment. It worked in the majority of cases.

Rob Yong eventually received an offer to work with PartyPoker. It occurred following a very successful WPT stage, which belonged to PartyPoker at the time and was held at Dusk Till Dawn. Rob and the PartyPoker team created a five-year plan for the room’s development in 2014, which helped Party become one of the best poker rooms in the world.
