Phongthep Thiptinnakon’s first recorded live cash occurred in March 1990 during the Winnin’ o’ The Green in Los Angeles. He finished in 5th place in a $300 + 30 1/2 Hold’em 1/2 Lowball, cashing $3,100.

In April 2000, Phongthep played in a $1,500 + 70 7 Card Stud during the 31st World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place and earned $34,910.
