Phi Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player from Santa Ana, California, with over $1.8 million in live tournament earnings. Building on his achievements, Phi won two WSOP bracelets: the first at the 34th WSOP in April 2003 and the second at the 35th WSOP in May 2004. His best live cash of $257,334 came when he finished in 26th place at the 39th WSOP in July 2008.
Phi Nguyen’s first recorded live cash occurred in September 1994 at the LA Poker Open II in Gardena. He finished in 4th place in a $200 + 30 Hold’em, cashing $896.
In April 2003, Phi made his mark by securing his first bracelet at the 34th WSOP. He won $222,800 in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em event.
Then, on May 8, 2004, he clinched another bracelet at the 35th WSOP. Phi won $180,000 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em – Shootout event.
Just a few days later, on May 10, 2004, Phi played in the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em from the same series. He finished in 2nd place, securing $95,380.
In the following years, Phi placed 26th at the 39th WSOP in July 2008. He secured his biggest live cash of $257,334 in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship event.
Moreover, Phi was eliminated in 2nd place at Deep Stack Extravaganza III in July 2009, which earned him a prize of $219,036 in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event.
In September 2022, Phi competed in a $3,200 + 30 No Limit Hold’em – Championship Event #21 at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Tampa. He ended up in 73d place, earning $8,450.
