Peter Vilandos (1940-2022) was a Greek-American professional poker player from Houston, Texas, with over $3.2 million in live tournament earnings. He has won a total of three WSOP bracelets during his poker career. His first was during the 26th WSOP in May 1995. Second at the 40th WSOP in June 2009, and his third at the 43rd WSOP in June 2012.

Peter Vilandos: Early Life

Peter Vilandos was born on May 30th, 1940 in Greece and moved to the United States as an immigrant when he was 27. Although he had already obtained a degree from the University of Athens, he later graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in electrical engineering.

Peter Vilandos: Live Tournament Participation

Peter Vilandos’ first recorded live cash occurred in January 1990 at the Super Stars Of Poker in Tahoe. He finished in 3rd place in a $500 + 30 No Limit Hold’em, cashing $4,950.

In August 1993, Peter played in a $5,000 + 75 No Limit Hold’em – Championship Event during the Jim Brady Month in Los Angeles. He finished in 2nd place and earned $132,750.

Following this, in May 1995, Peter entered in a $1,500 Hold’em Pot Limit at the 26th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He clinched his first bracelet and won his $148,500.

At the 40th WSOP on May 30th, 2009, he earned a substantial cash prize of $473,282. Peter participated in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em and secured 2nd place.

Shortly after, on June 11th, 2009, Peter won $607,256. He obtained his second WSOP bracelet in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em at the same event.

June 2012 brought another victory as Peter won his biggest live cash of $952,694 in a $5,000 No Limit Hold”em event at the 43rd WSOP.

Most recently, in May 2022, he competed in a $1,150 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event at the 101 Poker Richmond Spring Poker Classic in Houston. Peter placed 59th and cashed $2,600.
