Peter Jetten, also known as Apathy, is a Canadian professional poker player who was born on March 26th, 1985, in Toronto, Ontario. Since switching to live poker tournaments, Jetten has earned over $9.3 million, with the Triton Poker Series contributing to the majority of his success.

Peter Jetten: Early Life

When he was younger, Petter Jetten played track and field, hockey, and other sports while attending an all-boys school. When he realized he wouldn’t be able to pursue his initial dream of becoming a professional hockey player, he began to show an increased interest in markets and finance.

In high school, he played a little bit of poker before switching to playing money games and freerolls. He spent the $75 he earned from freerolls on sit-n-gos, tournaments, and cash games. He ultimately decided to drop out of school and concentrate on his poker career. 

Peter Jetten: Poker Career

Jetten played cash games before participating in live tournaments. In terms of his debut in tournaments, he made his debut at the 37th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in July 2006. He earned $5,369 for placing 24th. Also, he participated in the $2,500 short-handed no-limit hold’em two days later in the same event. He entered the final table and finished eighth, taking home $43,401.

He took part in the 2007 LA Poker Classic and finished 50th, taking home $22,780. Then, in December, he participated in another event at the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas, where he finished 18th and earned $78,085.

In the following year, 2008, he took part in another World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas. In doing so, he earned $528,256 and came in second. Irish poker player Marty Smyth took first place and received $859,549 in prize money.

Additionally, he participated in his first EPT event at the £ 20,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller in London in October 2008. Out of 86 entries, he finished fourth and took home $346,078.

Peter achieved yet another noteworthy accomplishment in 2010. Jetten competed and finished fifth at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne, taking home $323,036.

Jetten was jumping from the WSOP, EPT, and Aussie tournament events between 2010 and 2011. He has been performing well, and his participation in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in Paradise Island in January 2013 was undoubtedly influenced by the experience he had. With his victory, he received $52,280.

Triton Poker Series Successes of Peter Jetten

One of Jettens’ largest cashes came from the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro in Budva in May 2018. He managed to place third out of 63 entries and earned $1,019,373 for his efforts. Rui Cao and Mikita Badziakouski , who finished first and second, respectively, participated in that tournament.

He placed sixth at the HK$ 1,000,000 No Limit Hold’em-Short Deck Ante Only 1M in the same year and event of 2018, earning $641,904 in total. He also participated in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, South Korea, where he finished fourth and earned $802,762.

Jetten took part in two Triton Poker Super High Roller Series events in Jeju in March 2019. At the HK$500,000 No Limit Hold’em Short Deck Ante Only (Event #2), he finished in second place and took home $897,009. Devan Tang, a well-known Chinese poker took first place in that tournament. He also cashed in the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju 2019 Main (Event #6), where he finished fourth and won his largest payout to that point of $1,323,634.

In Budva, Montenegro, in May 2019, he also participated in the 5 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro events. A third-place finish by one of them earned him $1,223,148.

Peter Jetten’s World Series of Poker Participation

Since his participation in Triton, he spent time on different tournament events such as WSOP Online. Since many people are forced to stay at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he is one of the poker players who participated in the WSOP online tournament. Also in August 2020, he competed in six WSOP online tournaments; he did not achieve any notable results, but he did manage to take home a small win.

In 2021, he also competed in the World Poker Tour Online, finishing 22nd and earning $ 12,227. In addition, he was most recently seen competing at the 52nd World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in November 2021. He won $20,000 by finishing 623rd.

Conclusion

Peter is currently one of Canada’s most successful poker players. He has shown excellent results since then, particularly during his Triton participation and most recently during his WSOP participation. He may not be as active as he once was, but many believe he will return soon and bless us with his great results and greatness.
