Nicholas Marsico was arrested in January 2024 on charges of renting premises for gambling purposes in a gated neighborhood on Viejas Drive in Horry County, South Carolina. The investigation, conducted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), also resulted in the arrest of Justin James Brown, 36, on the same charge. Both men were allegedly hosting illegal poker games at the property. Authorities arrested 13 people during the operation, charging 11 with gambling misdemeanors.
One of the arrested individuals, 37-year-old Matthew Jason Gough, also faces charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, in addition to gambling. Arrest warrants revealed he had between two and four grams of fentanyl and 1 to 10 grams of cocaine. The suspects went to the J Reuben Long Detention Center on January 11 and were freed after posting bond. The 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office is prosecuting the case.
