Nghi Tran

Nghi Tran is a Vietnamese-Canadian professional poker player from Vaughan, Ontario, with over $1.9 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $780,615 came when he won at the WSOPC Atlantic City in January 2005.

Nghi Tran: Live Tournament Participation

Nghi Tran’s first recorded live cash occurred in October 2004 at the East Coast Poker Championships in Verona. He finished in 2nd place in a $2,400 + 100 No Limit Hold’em – Final Day, cashing $26,208.

Later in January 2005, Nghi clinched victory at the WSOPC in Atlantic City in a $9,500 + 500 No Limit Hold’em Championship. The payout of $780,615 marked the biggest live cash of his career.

Then, in May 2007, Nghi finished in 1st place at Johnny Chan Poker Classic. He won $266,877 in a C$2,700 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event.

In January 2008, he entered in a $2,500 + 150 No Limit Hold’em at the WPT Borgata Winter Open in Atlantic City. Nghi finished in 2nd place, pocketing a prize of $138,180.

In the following years, Nghi placed 4th at the 43rd WSOP in July 2012, taking home $158,512 in Event #54, the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Event.

A year later, in July 2013, he was eliminated in 5th place at the 44th WSOP, earning $163,340 in Event #58, the $1,111 No Limit Hold’em – Little One Drop.

In July 2024, Nghi participated in a $700 + 300 Pot Limit Omaha – Mystery Bounty Event #86 at the 55th WSOP. He ended up in 446th place, earning a prize of $1,322.
