Mike Wattel is an American professional poker player from Phoenix, Arizona. He has accumulated over $3.4 million in live earnings, achieving his highest live cash of $309,405. Wattel holds 2 WSOP bracelets, the first of which he earned at the 30th WSOP in May 1999, and the second at the 48th WSOP in July 2017.

Mike Wattel: Live Tournament Participation

Mike Wattel’s first appearance was recorded in a live tournament in December 1994. He participated in a $1,500 Limit Omaha event at the Hall of Fame Poker Classic in Las Vegas. Wattel finished 3rd and earned $9,900.

At the 30th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in May 1999, he secured his first WSOP bracelet by winning the $1,500 Omaha 8 or Better event. Mike collected $134,865 in prize money.

In April 2007, Wattel competed in the Fifth Annual Five Star World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. He finished 6th in a $25,000 + 500 WPT No Limit Hold’em Championship. Mike achieved his highest single cash amounting to $309,405.

He entered the 40th WSOP in Las Vegas in June 2009. Mike joined in a $10,000 World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo event and finished 3rd place. He cashed for $176,605. 

July 2017 marked Wattel’s second WSOP bracelet win at the 48th WSOP in Las Vegas.  He secured victory in a $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship and earned a grand prize of $245,451.

Continuing his success, in June 2019, Mike finished 3rd at the 50th WSOP in Las Vegas. He engaged in a $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship. He took home $164,647.

Wattel’s most recent participation was in July 2024 at the 55th WSOP in Las Vegas. He played in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event World Championship, cashing for $27,500.
