Mike Kinney is an American poker player from Sandpoint, Idaho, with over $1.3M in live tournament earnings. His most notable achievement came in March 2004, when he won the World Poker Challenge, earning a remarkable $629,469.
Mike Kinney first recorded live cash occurred in February 2002 during the Peppermill Spring Tournament in Reno. He finished in 3rd place in a $100 + 20 Limit Hold’em, cashing $2,031.
In March 2004, Mike played in a $5,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em WPT Championship at the World Poker Challenge in Reno. He finished in 1st place and won his biggest live cash of $629,469.
Later in April of that year, he participated in a$25,000 WPT No Limit Hold’em – Final Day at the WPT Championship in Las Vegas. Mike finished in 11th place and earned $83,165.
During the Fall Poker Round-Up in Pendleton in November 2008, he finished in 3rd place. Mike entered in a $1,000 + 15 No Limit Hold’em – Championship Event and took home $32,167.
Following this, he returned to the Fall Poker Round-Up to play in a $300 + 15 No Limit Hold’em in April 2009. He finished in 1st place and won $28,609.
Fast forward to December 2023. At the WPT World Championship, he earned a prize of $169,180. In this event, Mike competed in a $9,500 + 500 No Limit Hold’em – Seniors High Roller and finished in 3rd place.
In March 2024, he joined in a $3,200 + 300 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event #19 at the WPT Rolling Thunder in Lincoln. Mike finished in 2nd place and took home $235,000.
