Michael Watson, AKA SirWatts, is a Canadian professional poker player who was born in 1984 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He now has a massive total live earnings of over $20 million and he is currently ranked 5th on the Canada All-Time Money List.

Michael Watson Poker Career

With his $20 million total winnings, Michael Watson is currently one of the most successful poker players. He has achieved great success and received numerous awards. He has been competing in multiple tournaments, with his first tournament being the Bellagio Cup II in Las Vegas in August 2006.

In August 2006, he competed in the Bellagio Cup II, where he finished sixth and won $7,060. The following year, he competed in numerous tournaments, including the WSOP. In 2007, he competed in the 38th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. 

He also finished fourth at the Pokerstars World Cup of Poker in Barcelona in September 2007, earning $5,464. He then competed in the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket, finishing seventh and winning $21,947.

In December 2007, he also finished second at the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas, winning $25,950. Mike Landers took first place in that event, winning $38,400.

More outstanding results from his tournament followed as he won the Bellagio Cup IV in Las Vegas in July 2008. He won first place and received a whopping $1,673,770.

He also won the Bellagio Cup V in Las Vegas in July 2009, taking home $140,625. Another first-place finish came in the 2010 Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne, where he earned $119,911.

Michael Watson’s rising Poker Results

Michael Watson has continued to play and produce great tournament results since then. He is known as one of the poker players who improved over time. In the World Series Of Poker Europe in Cannes in October 2011, he won $ 139,464 after finishing first.

He proved himself once more in October 2012, when he won the World Series of Poker Europe in Cannes. Of course, he won first place and $1,304,648. The following year, in May 2013, he finished 7th on the European Poker Tour in Monte Carlo, winning $286,246.

In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and the coming year. He has achieved outstanding results. He was able to win some prestigious tournaments as well as make it to the final table. Just like his participation in the Poker Masters Online in April 2020.  He won $249,900.

He also took first place in the World Poker Tour Montreal Online in January 2021, winning $ 39,006. In June 2022, he competed in the 53rd World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished second in that event and won $326,296. 

Michael Watson’s most recent WSOP appearance was at Las Vegas. He finished 54th in the 54th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and won $4,021.
