Mel Weiner’s first recorded live cash occurred in November 1987 at the 3rd Annual Diamond Jim Brady in Bell Gardens. He finished in 7th place in a $1,000 Razz, cashing $540.

In May 1996, Mel played in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em at the 27th WSOP in Las Vegas. He finished in 1st place and won his biggest live cash of $250,315.

At the 33rd WSOP in May 2002, he earned a cash prize of $91,080. Mel participated in a $1,500 Pot Limit Hold’em and finished in 2nd place.

Later in June of that year, he participated in a $500 + 40 No Limit Hold’em Championship during the California State Poker Championship. Mel finished in 1st place and won $93,425.

Fast forward to December 2009. At Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, he won a prize of $109,468. In this event, Mel joined in a $1,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em and clinched another victory.

Moreover, in June 2015, Mel entered in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Event #57 at the 46th WSOP. He finished in 2nd place and earned $248,034.

Most recently, in January 2024, Mel competed in a $1,100 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event #11 during the Gardens Winter Series Tournaments in Los Angeles. He place 102nd and cashed $2,390.
