Max Pescatori AKA “The Italian Pirate,” is an Italian professional poker player from Milan, with over $4.8 million in live tournament earnings. During his poker career, he has won four WSOP bracelets. His most notable achievement came in July 2006, when he finished first at the 37th World Series of Poker, earning a remarkable $682,389.

Additionally, Max won two rings at the WSOPC Atlantic City in January 2005 and WSOPC Las Vegas in September 2005. In 2021, Max signed on with King’s Resort to serve as its official poker ambassador. He was also sponsored by the now-defunct Full Tilt Poker

Max Pescatori: Early Life

Max was born on January 22, 1971, in Milan, Italy, and grew up with a love for two very different sports: soccer and poker. His first introduction to card games came during family vacations with friends, sparking an early interest. Initially, Max pursued soccer, dreaming of becoming a striker for Italy’s national team. However, by the age of 15, he discovered poker and found himself drawn to the game.

As his passion for poker grew, Max realized that his future lay in cards rather than soccer. At 23, he made the bold decision to leave Milan and move to Las Vegas, where he embarked on his journey to become a professional poker player.

In 2017, along with Fabio Coppola and Todd Brunson became the new owner of Roma Deli & Restaurant in Chinatown. They took over the casual spot at the Siena Plaza retail center on Spring Mountain Road.

Max Pescatori: Live Tournament Participation

Max Pescatori’s first recorded live cash occurred in June 2002 during the Summer Pot of Gold in Reno. He finished in 8th place in a $100 + 20 Crazy Pineapple Hi/Lo – Twilight Event, cashing $342.

In August 2004, Max played in a $200 + 25 No Limit Hold’em during the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles. He finished in 1st place and won $106,630.

At the 37th WSOP in Las Vegas in July 2006, he won his biggest live cash prize of $682,389. Max participated in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em and secured his first bracelet.

During the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne January 2008, he finished in 10th place. Max took part in a A$10,000 + 500 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event and earned $118,668.

Later in June of that year, he participated in a $2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha during the 39th WSOP. Max clinched victory and won $246,509.

on June 1st, 2015. During the 46th WSOP, he bagged a prize of $155,947. In this event, Max joined in a $1,500 7 Card Razz and finished in 1st place.

It was a lucky day for Max, as he clinched his fourth bracelet at the same event on June 19th. He played in the $10,000 7 Card Stud Hi/Low Split 8 or Better Championship #41 and won $292,158.
