Matt Grapenthien’s first recorded live cash occurred in February 2004 at the L.A. Poker Classic. He finished in 3rd place in a $1,500 + 80 7 Card Stud Championship, cashing $29,740.

Fast forward to July 2014. At the 45th WSOP, he won his biggest live cash of $268,473. In this event, Matt entered in a $10,000 7-Card Stud and finished in 1st place.

Following this, Matt played in a $10,000 7-Card Stud Championship Event #3 at the 47th WSOP in June 2016. He finished in 2nd place and earned $149,976.

At the 49th WSOP in June 2018, he earned a cash prize of $50,669. Matt participated in a $10,000 7 Card Stud Championship Event #38 and secured 5th place.
