Massoud Setayesh’s first recorded live cash occurred in July 2002 at the Stars & Stripes in Los Angeles. He finished in 7th place in a $100 + 20 Firecracker 100 Limit Hold’em, cashing $740.

During the L.A Poker Classic in February 2004, he finished in 1st place. Massoud took part in a $500 + 40 No Limit Hold’em and won his biggest live cash of $93,150 .

In May 2005, Massoud played in a $2,425 + 155 No Limit Hold’em Championship during the Heavenly Hold’em in Los Angeles. He finished in 2nd place and earned $75,100.
