In May 2000, Mark Wilds recorded his first live cash. He entered the $5,000 + 100 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event at the 31st World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. He placed 9th and earned $9,900.

Following this, in October 2004, Wilds competed in the $2,500 + 100 No Limit Hold’em Final Day event at the Festa al Lago III Poker Tournament in Las Vegas. He finished 2nd and earned $59,890.

In January 2006, Wilds continued to build on his success by participating in the $1,500 + 70 No Limit Hold’em event at the Gold Strike World Poker Open in Tunica. He secured 2nd place and cashed $67,858.
