Mark Dickstein was an American professional poker player from Morristown, New Jersey, with over $775.8K in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $184,428 came when he finished in 3rd place at the 37th WSOP in July 2006. He passed away on August 9, 2024.

Away from the poker table, Mark made a name for himself in the early days of hedge funds. He built the firm Dickstein Partners, one of the leading hedge funds of the time, specializing in merger arbitrage and bankruptcy investing. He also had a business partnership with poker pro Yuval Bronshtein.

Mark Dickstein: Live Tournament Participation

Mark Dickstein’s first recorded live cash occurred in March 2004 at the World Poker Challenge in Reno. He finished in 6th place in a $500 + 40 No Limit Hold’em, cashing $6,102.

In July 2006, Mark played in a $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha at the 37th WSOP in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place and secured his biggest live cash of $184,428.

At the Seventh Annual Five Star World Poker Classic in April 2009, he earned a cash prize of $53,135. Mark participated in a $1,500 + 90 No Limit Hold’em and secured 2nd place.

Later in October of that year, he joined in a $3,000 + 120 No Limit Hold’em during the Festa al Lago in Las Vegas. Mark clinched victory and won $31,045.

Following this, Mark entered in a $1,500 + 80 No Limit Hold’em at Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December 2009. He finished in 4th place and earned $53,020.

Continuing his career, Mark finished in 2nd place at the Foxwoods Poker Classic in March 2015, earning $36,700.

In July 2024, he competed in a $800 No Limit Hold’em – Independence Day Celebration Bracelet Event #80 at the 55th WSOP. Mark placed 185th and cashed $3,620.
