Marius Skoglund Torbergsen is a well-known Norwegian poker tournament player from Fromso. Despite only cashing in ten tournaments, he’s managed to make a whopping $496,157 in live earnings. His greatest live cash came in his most recent tournament, the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro, where he won a whopping $ 296,303.

Marius Skoglund Torbergsen: Poker Career

Marius Skoglund Torbergsen began his poker career on August 3, 2006. His debut tournament came at the 37th World Series of Poker – WSOP 2006 in Las Vegas, where he played a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em. Despite this being Marius’ first time participating in such competitions, he managed to finish 48th and receive a nice reward of $3,003. Marius took a break from tournaments for a while before returning a year later. His second tournament was the EPT Warsaw z 15,000 No Limit Hold’em on March 14, 2007. Marius shown significant development in this tournament, finishing fourth and receiving a large prize of $102,851.

His next tournament was the $ 2,500 + 200 No Limit Hold’em at the LAPT San Jose in May 2008, where he finished 28th and won $6,756. Furthermore, he returned to the WSOPE 2010 GBP 10,000 + 350 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller Heads-Up in September 2010. He finished 16th, with a wins of $ 35,246. 

Marius entered two tournaments in the month of January of 2012. It was at the Euro Finals of Poker 2012 that he won $13,204, and at the EPT Deauville that he won $ 11,836. After that, he stopped participating in live tournaments for about 4 years before returning in early June 2016 at the 47th World Series of Poker, where he won $8,932.

Marius’s last tournament appearance was on May 17, 2018, at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Budva, Montenegro. At the HK$ 1,000,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament, he placed 11th and won $ 296,303, surpassing his previous live cash win of $ 102,856 from 2007. Years have passed since he last participated in a live tournament, but there is no doubt that he will shortly participate in upcoming tournaments.
