Marcel Luske is a Dutch professional poker player and author born on March 23, 1953 from Amsterdam. He has over $5.1 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $373,000 came when he finished in 10th place at the 35th WSOP in May 2004.
In 2008, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the European Poker Tour, and in 2009, he joined PokerStars as a member of their Team Pro. In 2016, he became an ambassador for the Open Dutch Poker Championship. Additionally, he signed a sponsorship deal with PartyPoker in June 2017. He is also the author of the International Poker Rules FIDPA, an initiative aimed at promoting tournament fairness worldwide.
Marcel Luske’s first recorded live cash occurred in November during the Master Classics of Poker 1999 at Amsterdam City Centre. He finished in 1st place in a HFL200 Limit Stud/Hold’em, winning $15,200.
In October 2003, Marcel played in a €1,500 + 25 No Limit Hold’em at the European Poker Classics in London. He finished clinched another victory and won $116,940.
At the 35th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in May 2004, he finished in 10th place. Marcel took part in a $10,000 World Championship Event and secured his biggest live cash of $373,000.
Following this, Marcel finished in 1st place at the Third Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic in April 2005. He participated in a $2,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em and bagged a prize of $212,070.
Continuing his career, he finished 1st place at the Fourth Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic in April 2006, winning $315,630.
Later in July of that year, he participated in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 37th WSOP. Marcel finished in 4th place and earned $204,638.
Fast forward to July 2017. At the 48th WSOP, he secured a prize of $263,532. In this event, Marcel entered in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event Championship #73 and finished in 23rd place.
Moreover, in February 2018, Marcel joined in a €10,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller during the partypoker MILLIONS in Rozvadov. He finished in 2nd place and cashed $224,635.
