Makram Merhom is an American professional poker player from Glendale, California, with over $1 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $89,466 came when he finished in 1st place at the L.A Poker Classic in February 2000.

Makram Merhom: Early Life

Born in Glendale, Makram attended California State University, Northridge, in 2011, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. In 2017, he received the Oral Presentation Award at the Senior Design Project Showcase in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. After graduating, he landed his first job at XYPRO Technology as a QA Automation Engineer.

Makram Merhom: Live Tournament Participation

Makram Merhom’s first recorded live cash occurred in June 1996 during the $100,000 Player Reward Freeroll Tournament in Los Angeles. He clinched victory in a Hold’em event, winning $20,000.

In Februrary 2000, Makram played in a $300 + 30 Limit Hold’em at the L.A Poker Classic. He clinched another victory and won his biggest live cash of $89,466.

Following this, in August 2006, Makram competed in a $1,000 + 70 No Limit Hold’em during the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles. He reached the final table by placing 2nd and earned $67,155.

At the WSOP Circuit – Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles in December 2016, he earned $33,150. Makram joined in a $300 + 65 No Limit Hold’em – Monster Stack Event #3 and secured 3rd place.

Continuing his career, he competed in a $570 No Limit Hold’em – 40/40/40 Event #40 at the World Poker Tour – L.A Poker Classic in February 2020. Makram finished in 3rd place and took home $50,560.

On March 19th, 2021, he participated in a $9,500 + 500 No Limit Hold’em Event #8 at the L.A. Poker Classic. Makram finished in finished in 5th place and earned $46,450.

Most recently, in July 2024, he competed in a $400 No Limit Hold’em – Big 4 Event #10 during the Legends of Poker. Makram placed 28th and cashed $2,670.
